Overview

Green spaces within and around the school premises is the top priority for us. The earlier and more often children are exposed to nature, the happier, healthier, and brighter they become. The construction of the school, from the very beginning, has been planned in such a way as to allow maximum green spaces and a healthy environment within the school that would enable students and teachers to be at their best, physically, mentally and emotionally. A special focus has been given to healthy indoor air quality, water, ambient sound, lighting, cleaning, disinfecting and most importantly safety & surveillance of the entire campus.

Understanding this, we bring to the students, the unparalleled opportunities to develop their creative side. With creative programs, supported by proper environment, latest technology, and ideal faculty we wish to equip the students with the ability to innovate and create.

Kids’ Zone

The specially designed colourful and innovative play area not only provides a fun and colourful environment for tiny tots to play but it is also furnished with games and activities which will help them grow and enhance their brain activity and development.

Our approach to education is multi-dimensional and we plan to teach in an experiential manner incorporating fun activities. The Kid's zone is one of our ways to do the same. Using visual media, puzzles, and challenging tools, we instil in them a life-long desire to learn, be curious and further help grow their analytical skills. With numerous other games and activities, we aim to make learning a fun activity for the tiny tots.

Library

"A library is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life."
A necessity, which enlightens the human mind and opens doorways to vast possibilities. The library at DPS, Haldwani has great resources and is a knowledge centre with a variety of easily accessible books.

The school library is computerized, well equipped, with HVAC and has numerous books. It consists of a wide range of reference books, magazines, journals, encyclopaedias, and newspapers. The library is regularly updated to include the latest reading material that will help in making classroom teaching more effective.

It is mandatory for all the classes to have one period in a week as the library period. The students are issued the library cards on which the senior and the junior students can issue 1 book for a period of one week. The total number of books presently is at 4042, with the number increasing with each passing day.

The library has sections of books ranging from textbooks and reference books to fiction and general knowledge, encyclopaedia, and material for competitive exams. Since the school aims at making learning a fun process, there is an assortment of books and magazines available on general topics and separate sections for hobby-related books, books on travel, animal care, short stories, drama, poetry, astrology, and other topics.

The library subscribes to 5 dailies and 11 magazines/periodicals. We have a class library at Junior level where students can have story time in the class itself. Each class library has 20 books that are age and class appropriate.

English Language Lab

The English Language Lab at DPS Haldwani works as a perfect digital teaching-learning resource for teachers and students and gives them an ‘Opportunity’ to practice at their own Pace, Space & Needs.

Mathematics Lab

The Mathematics Laboratory is a part of a project to enhance and enrich school mathematics. The primary objective of the laboratory is to provide students with an environment, which encourages independent and original thinking. Here the ‘learning by discovery’ approach is practised, and students are made to work on projects and activities, which highlight the beauty and relevance of mathematics as a discipline.

Computer Lab

This is the age of IT and AI. Computers are no longer a luxury but a necessity. The school has a fully air-conditioned and user-friendly computer lab. The lab is well equipped with the latest technology and upgrades. Internet facility with broadband connection paves the way for the students to become highly skilled resource persons and technocrats in the near future. We want them to have the cutting edge over their peers by giving them the best of everything be it curriculum or technology.

Safety & Surveillance

Safety comes as a priority issue for us, which is very much evident in our conduct. The school building has been built according to the safety code specified by CBSE. Specific emergency-related practice drills are regularly conducted for the students. The whole school is under CCTV surveillance at all times. There is strict supervision at all entry points and access is restricted. Guard man all the entry and exit points. A lady guard is stationed within the School premises who takes constant rounds and looks after student safety while also supervising the support staff.

Sports Facilities

With state-of-the-art facilities and amenities, children are spoilt for choice. We aspire to play a crucial role in encouraging and engaging the students to actively participate and avail the benefits of a life with sports.

Auditorium

The auditorium is a central and vital space in any school. It is a stage provided to the student where one can watch the students perform and grow, celebrate their accomplishments, motivate, and inspire them. The students at Delhi Public School, Haldwani are lucky to have a 500 seating and a well-equipped modern auditorium with good sound technology with scope for customised arrangement.

Canteen

The school has a canteen facility available for the students where home-cooked meal recipes are served. No aerated drinks or junk items are allowed. All food items are regularly and randomly checked by school authorities to monitor quality and hygiene. The canteen is available to Class VI and above daily while, for classes, I to V one day of the week has been granted to avail canteen facility.

Infirmary

An In-house medical care facility (school infirmary) has been provided to meet any medical emergency.
The school is well equipped to provide first aid and general health care to students. The school has a tie up with a leading hospital for any medical emergency of specialized nature.
The infirmary is supervised by a qualified nurse and is stocked with the necessary equipment and medicines.
The school clinic maintains an updated medical record of all students, also available to parents via the school ERP Application.
Any direction given by the school regarding the health of a child should be taken seriously by the parents.
A vehicle is present in school for medical emergency situations.
An annual medical check-up is conducted for all students by a qualified and reputed panel of doctors.

Science Lab

"Science is curiosity, testing and experimenting." To approach science in its true meaning and maintain student's curiosity, assist efficient testing and experimenting, we have fully furnished Chemistry, Biology and Physics labs with modern innovation facilitating equipment. The labs are facilitated with fully equipped workstations (water, electricity, gas outlets, instruments, chemicals) and proper safety equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kit etc.).

Robotics And STEM Lab

The Robotics Laboratory at Delhi Public School Haldwani is an initiative in the field of STEM Education (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics). To nurture the creativity and talent of students by adopting a curiosity-based learning approach. Robotics is seamlessly stitched into the curriculum with a view to foster the essential work skills of students like collaboration, problem solving, project management, innate creativity, and innovation.

3D Printing

Delhi Public School is equipped with a high-grade 3d printer and trained staff to conduct training sessions. This is an endeavour to equip the students with the upcoming technological trends, tools, and techniques.

3D printing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. Students learn to design objects on the software and create them physically using the 3d printer. A perfect tool to turn their “Imagination into Reality.”

Transport

The services of the school bus are available to all the students who opt for it. Efforts have been made to ensure that the bus follows all the major routes. Proper precautionary measures are taken to ensure the safety of students at all cost. All the transport vehicles are GPS enabled with seat belts. Trained and experienced drivers have been appointed.

All school buses carry a permitted number of students in accordance with the capacity of the bus.
A female attendant escorts the students to ensure safety and cleanliness.
All buses have a first aid kit to attend to any medical needs.
All buses are Ac for the comfort of the students while travelling.
Cameras are installed in all buses.
All the buses have a GPS tracking feature. Parents can track the route of the bus on their mobile application.
